Cleaning and Caring for your Cabinets
Face it, cabinets get dirty. Luckily it only takes a little
cleaning care to keep them looking like new.
If a spill occurs, a quick wipe with a towel will do just fine. For monthly maintenance, a wet towel with
dish soap can be used, followed by a wipe with a dry towel. Annual cleaning can be done with Murphy's Oil Soap or Windex. Never
use an abrasive cleaner, wax-based polish or scouring pads, which will scratch
or harm the finish.
Cleaning and Caring for your Countertops
Laminate countertops
- Cleaning can be done the same as your cabinets
- Always use hot pads underneath any hot dishes or pans - including roasters and crock pots
- Laminate can be scratched and isn't typically repairable
Granite countertops
-
Mild soap and water for
daily cleaning is best
- Granite can sustain very high
temperatures from hot pans, crock pots, etc
- Granite
is very durable and is
resistant to most scratches and chips
- Your
granite is already sealed
at the time of installation, which should block many stains
Solid surface countertops
- Mild soap and water will take
care of most stains and spills
- Always use hot pads for hot
dishes and pans - including roasters and crock pots
- Most
scratches can be removed by
the home owner by following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Deep scratches and chips can be removed by
the fabricator or installation specialist
