Distinctive Cabinets specializes in custom kitchen and bath cabinets, built-ins and freestanding cabinets. We also make custom furniture. We work with both new construction and remodels.
What areas do you serve?
We primarily serve northeast Wisconsin, including Green Bay & Luxemburg, but we work as far south as Milwaukee.
How are your cabinets different?
Your cabinets will be built to your exact size. This eliminates unsightly excess rails and moldings that you’d get with premade box cabinets. As a result, your cabinets are fit perfectly for a clean, tailored look.
Distinctive Cabinets also uses a ‘conversion varnish’ on the face and interior of our cabinets, as well as the drawer boxes. Simply put, we use the latest cabinetry technology to provide you with stronger, longer lasting cabinets (unlike home improvement stores who often use lower grade, laminated paper covers).
How much do cabinets cost?
It really depends on your needs. Since all of our cabinets are custom made, it’s not feasible to be less expensive than home improvement stores who use stock cabinetry. Still, we’re very competitive and are often times less expensive than other custom cabinet shop.
What if I just want to update my cabinets?
If your cabinets are in good shape, and you just need to update them, you’re in luck. This can be achieved with new doors, drawer fronts, counter tops and hardware. This is called “refacing. ” However, we don’t offer stripping or refinishing of cabinets, or doors.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept checks and, for a small fee, we also accept PayPal & major credit cards.
How do we get started?
The first appointment will be at your home. I’ll take measurements and we’ll discuss your layout and ideas. Next, you’ll pick out some major options (wood, cabinet style, finish and counter tops). A few days later, you’ll receive a ball-park estimate.
(Don’t worry if you are not sure on some of the details, we can go over them at our next appointment at our “show room.")
Next, a computerized 3-D drawing will be available for viewing upon down payment – which is then credited to your final bill. The drawing allows you to take a virtual look around your new room prior to beginning work.
After all of your options are picked, a final quote will be reviewed, and signed. At this time, an installation date can be set. Fifty percent down of the contract price is required to start. The final half (less drawing deposit) is requested on the final day of installation. If any changes are made after the project is started, you will be informed of any pricing changes.
What about after the work is done?
A year after new construction or large remodel, things may shift a bit with the heating and cooling seasons. If necessary, we can set up an appointment to stop back and take care of any minor door adjustments.
