It’s always extra fun remodeling for family members. For this job we totally redesigned the kitchen for my wife’s aunt and uncle, which is great because they always host our family Thanksgiving.

To begin, we started by coming up with a more functional layout and design for the kitchen. Before the remodel, there was a big peninsula in the middle of the kitchen. It was great for counter space, but it just took up too much room and hurt the flow of the room. We have a huge family, so at Thanksgiving it was impossible to get around the kitchen with the peninsula in the way.

Next, in order to improve the functionality of the kitchen, we decided to change the location of the stove, and we added a corner wall oven unit. Moving the oven closer to the prep area made a lot of sense and makes cooking easier. We also took advantage of some unused space by moving the location of the refrigerator.

As for the cabinets, we built custom raised-panel oak cabinets, which are traditional yet sophisticated. We also added new granite counter tops  And to make cleaning easier, we added an under-mount sink. Finally, we added brushed stainless accessories to match the appliances. Once we added new flooring, we had a whole new beautiful kitchen.

Bob and Diane – Thank you for the work. I can’t wait for next Thanksgiving.
